A practice that has been established as a reference point for the comparative evaluation of a given organization's social impact.

Description

In general terms, a benchmark is a criterion against which performance quality can be measured, judged, and evaluated, a process referred to as benchmarking.

Examples of social benchmarks include established best practices related to employment, wages, income distribution and labour costs, working time, social protection and active ageing, lifelong learning, information, consultation and worker participation, social dialogue, macroeconomic dialogue and delocalization.
